I have just returned from our AGFR which was held at Windsor & Richmond in NSW just out of Sydney from 30th March-3rd April. Although our numbers were down a little just over 100 participating and 4 inches (100mm) of rain the event was a great success. We had one day being washed out and on the last day we played a 16 hole event as 2 holes were under water and we also had to have a couple of temporary tees and greens, which all makes for an interesting round of golf. The fellowship was excellent and had the customary make-up dinner with an excellent and entertaining guest speaker plus the presentation dinner.

Next years event is to be held in Perth, West Australia from 3rd-8th October 2010, the following year 2011 we will be at Victor Harbor, South Australia in early April, then 2012 we will be in Darwin, NT in June.

This year we have allocated two scholarships for a young greenkeeper to go to the USA and work at one of the top golf courses through The Ohio State University Agriculture and Turf Management Programme.
